Psychotherapy to help you find your way.
Take the first step to your true self.

Welcome!

Taking the first step to seek counseling is often the hardest. It requires courage and motivation to address current challenges that we face in our lives. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment to empower you to overcome your obstacles and experience positive growth.

I’m confident that together we can work to gain a better understanding of the challenges in your life and equip you with the necessary tools to overcome these challenges.

"One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.
- Abraham Maslow

Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, or a life transition (i.e. moving on from high school to college, coping with a breakup, starting a new job, etc.) it’s important that you know you don’t have to be alone in this journey. I can help you develop the skills and strength to face life with confidence and purpose.

My goal for you is to help transition you to becoming more comfortable in your current place in life and in yourself. I implement a variety of therapeutic techniques to help you uncover and adjust behavior or perceptions that may be standing in your way of a more fulfilling life. If you’re interested in becoming a happier you, I’d love to work with you every step of the way!

About Melanie Peters

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and knew from a young age that I wanted to pursue a career helping others.

Challenges that I experienced in life were often met with anxiety and insecurity. Learning to identify, understand and respond to life’s challenges in healthy and constructive ways motivated me to make my goal of becoming a counselor a reality.

I have a BS in psychology from the University of Iowa and a Master’s in Professional Community Counseling from the University of Georgia.

I have now worked as a counselor for the past 10 years and continue to grow within the field by keeping up with the latest research and techniques.

I provide counseling services out of my private practice in West Cobb GA. Please go to the Location tab to look up my address.

I help adolescent and young adult women experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions (i.e. ending a relationship, going to college, starting a new job) and low self-esteem.

I look forward to working with you!
